What is Creatine and what does it do?

First off let's start by saying, it's not a testosterone booster, it won't make you feel all tingly, and energised with a furious strength to smash everything in sight.
The number of times I've heard guys say "ah I'm getting all tingly, I can feel it 'kicking in' makes me want to bang my head off a wall" this my friends is a placebo.
It does have a positive effect on strength and lean mass in a more subtle way though.
Creatine is a compound that supplies energy to your muscles. Produced by the body, and also found in some foods, mostly meat.
Creatine is produced in the liver, pancreas, and kidneys, and is transported to the body's muscles through the bloodstream.
When it reaches the muscles, it is converted into phosphocreatine (creatine phosphate).
This is used to regenerate the muscles ultimate energy source, ATP.
When you workout, your ATP levels drop rapidly. Creatine is responsible for restoring ATP levels.
One thing you will notice taking Creatine, is that your numbers will go up, in sets and reps, you may not fatigue as quickly, and if you're eating right, you will notice positive changes in lean mass.
Please consult your doctor before taking Creatine.
